Thanks for the information, however, the article seems to imply that fixing/renovating the building will result in saving money as well as preserving this architectural landmark. Yale’s web site indicates that Rudolph Hall was a 122,150 square foot building; the Loria Hall project added another 85,800 Square feet. Using your numbers, Rudolph Hall was renovated for about $450 per square foot. I’ve seen articles that have listed the government center as a 159,000 square foot building and others that list it as 250,000 sq ft., therefore the renovation costs would be between $72 million and $113 million. There are those who don’t particularly like the design, but they only want to fix it in order to save money. They may find that, when all is said and done that they could have replaced it for about the same amount. The people who want to save it as an architectural landmark may find that modern construction code requirements (such as the ADA), and the necessary repairs may significantly change the structure. It might remain a “Rudolph” design in name only. Ironically, the Yale renovation has its own critics because there were major modifications to the interior and the “purists” feel that Rudolph’s artistic vision was destroyed. I don’t think anyone is going to be happy no matter what decision is made.

Of the $126M, $55M was spent on Paul Rudolph Hall's restoration/renovation, while the remaining $71M was spent on a new seven story building attached to Rudolph Hall/the Architecture School.

Interesting article. The one thing that seems to be missing is how much it cost to fix it. According to a 2008 NY Times article, the cost of the renovation was about $126 million

How timely! Sacred cows all over the place! Penn State: Paterno/college football ogilarchy over child molesters. NFA: Copeletti/high school football ogilarchy over educating children. U.S.Congress: insider trading over representing their constituents. Banks and Wall Street: paying off the politicians(with insider trading?) while somehow escaping prosecution for destroying the world's economy. And the biggest cow of all the Roman Catholic Pope promoting child molesters and abusers around the world! Flip them burgers!

Why weren't the other candidates questioned about why they didn't show up? Could it be because this forum was thrown together at the last minute just 2 weeks before the election? Could it be that the audience and the moderators at a NAACP/Democratic(via Roxie Royal) sponsored event would be easily construed as biased? Thanks for putting up the entire video. If this is the best the Democratic Party could run, it is quite clear why this city is in such trouble.
