The City of Newburgh has just announced a permit moratorium for events. Ann Kuzmik, Administrative Assistant to the City Manager, had made a presentation regarding the issue during the work session meeting Thursday, July 9.
At the work session, reasons for the moratorium included the cost to DPW and for police overtime.

On Friday, November 14, dignitaries and citizens of Newburgh joined together for the dedication ceremony of the New York State Liberty Tree at Washington’s Headquarters. Pete Seeger and his grandson, Tao Rodriguez-Seeger, graced the ceremony with a performance.
Newburgh residents past and present welcomed Captain Henry Hudson and his ship the Half Moon on Saturday at the kick-off event for the Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial and Newburgh’s 300th Birthday celebration.
“I’m glad to be back in Newburgh for the first time in almost 400 years,” said Captain Hudson.
