ABOUT THIS SITE
The mission of The Newburgh Advocate is to promote good government at the local and regional level. The geographic focus is the City of Newburgh, NY, and extends to Orange County, NY. Governmental entities covered include the city council of Newburgh; local public authorities, such as the Newburgh Industrial Development Agency, the Newburgh Local Development Corporation, the (now former) Newburgh Community Development Agency, as well as selected coverage of the Orange County Legislature and the Orange County Industrial Development Agency. Areas of particular attention include economic development and issues of transparency and ethics, including areas of conflicts of interest. The actions of state and federal agencies and governmental entities are also covered to the extent that they affect the local region.
