The vitriolic name-calling, even subtle threats, spoken by a Mr. Wilson at Feb. 23 meeting, representing NACC, were arrogant cries of a spoiled teenager, grappling with stunted development, both abusive and inapproriate, considering he is supposed to be working with the city council, not working against them. He reveals embarassing ignorance regarding his role and knowledge of the city of Newburgh. He needs to not only become educated about how to communicate in a social setting, he also needs to understand that irrational behavior is unbecoming a commissioner. If he can’t control himself, he needs to be thrown off the commission, or at the very least censured. There appears to be a ‘cult’ mentality developing on this pathetically patronizing commission, which is allegedly supposed to be an advisory commission serving the people of Newburgh. Have they lost their direction?

The “razzle-dazzle” speech by Christine Bello (city councilperson) was pure art. It expressed the tenants crucial to fostering an ethical society based on ‘truth’. If folks don’t hear her words and what she represents, they are facing the darkness, not the light and hope for a better Newburgh. They are, in essence, irresponsible, petty, cynical and uninformed and should move somewhere else. Thank you, Christine Bello, for keeping the issues up-front and real, for bringing backroom politics into the light for the public taxpayers to see and hear, and for calling for responsible transparency by the Newburgh government.

How ignorant and uneducated can people really be? Did there mothers and fathers not teach them how to behave in a social setting. I have never in my life heard people speaking out of turn for the purpose of diagreeing or to insult another. Maybe they should try a more mature approach, like waiting your turn to speak, then just maybe someone might be willing to listen. I have seen children, who are smarter and behave with more common decency than these so called members of society.
